JPMorgan Chase to roll out more advanced AI agents this year
JPMorgan Chase AI agents are set to run longer and handle complex work Could boost banker productivity and reshape how the bank builds software
JPMorgan Chase plans to introduce more capable AI agents later this year that can operate on their own for longer periods, according to a CNBC report published June 9, 2026.
The bank’s chief analytics officer, Derek Waldron, said the tools are moving beyond simple onestep automation and are increasingly able to manage multistep work across different software systems. He said JPMorgan expects these longrunning agents to be usable in 2026, though security and governance issues are still a barrier.
The bank says AI is already affecting business performance, including a reported 20% increase in gross sales in private banking. JPMorgan also believes the technology could eventually let bankers handle up to 50% more clients, while also changing how the firm evaluates outside software vendors versus building tools inhouse.
