Niagara thefts and break-ins may be linked across St. Catharines, Lincoln, Grimsby Police urge businesses to boost security and report tips as the investigation continues

Niagara regional police are investigating a series of thefts and breakins across the region that investigators say may be connected. The incidents happened last month in St. Catharines, Lincoln and Grimsby. Police said the suspects typically smash the front glass of a business, take the cash register and leave within minutes. Investigators say the group uses disguises including hoods, gloves and masks, and one suspect was seen wearing a monkey mask. Officers also believe the suspects may have used a lightcoloured Cadillac sedan, possibly a Cadillac ATS, or a white sedan that could be a Honda Civic. Police are asking business owners to avoid leaving cash in tills overnight and to consider security cameras and lights. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
