Toronto police are investigating a homicide after a woman was shot in a downtown apartment building on Saturday morning.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Jarvis Street and Dundas Street East around 9:30 a.m. and found a woman with a gunshot wound inside an apartment unit. She was taken to hospital, where she later died.
Police said the shooting happened at 251 Jarvis St. A man has been arrested in connection with the case, but no charges have been announced yet. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the shooting and whether the two knew each other.
