Todd Warriner named interim coach of Windsor women’s hockey team

Former NHL player Todd Warriner has been appointed interim head coach of the University of Windsor women’s hockey team. He replaces Deanna Iwanicka, who stepped down in April after eight seasons with the Lancers. Warriner, who is from Blenheim, Ontario, was selected fourth overall in the 1992 NHL draft by the Quebec Nordiques. He played nearly 500 NHL games over 14 seasons with several teams, including Toronto, Tampa Bay, Phoenix, Vancouver, Philadelphia and Nashville. The 52yearold most recently coached in Germany’s professional leagues and also worked as an assistant with Windsor’s men’s team from 2019 to 2023. The Lancers said he will handle player development, game planning and daily team operations as the program prepares for the 202627 season.
