Rivian lifts 2026 delivery forecast as Lucid falls short in the second quarter

Rivian and Lucid reported mixed secondquarter delivery results on Thursday, highlighting different demand trends in the electric vehicle market.
Rivian said it now expects to deliver 65,000 to 70,000 vehicles in 2026, up from a prior range of 62,000 to 67,000. The company credited strongerthanexpected secondquarter demand, with 12,194 deliveries and 12,613 vehicles produced. Rivian also said deliveries were supported by its electric delivery van and R1 models, and it has begun delivering its midsize R2 SUV.
Lucid reported 3,953 deliveries in the second quarter, below Wall Street expectations. The company also announced changes to its leadership structure under new CEO Silvio Napoli, including the departure of CFO Taoufiq Boussaid after a transition to successor Alexander De Bock. Tesla separately said it delivered 480,126 vehicles in the quarter, topping expectations.
