Bitcoin Coinbase premium falls to monthly low after Senate rejects CLARITY Act
Bitcoin demand on Coinbase weakens after the CLARITY Act setback See onchain signals, premium shifts, and trader capitulation now
Bitcoin demand on Coinbase weakened after the US Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act, according to onchain data cited by CryptoQuant. The Bitcoin Coinbase Premium Index dropped to 0.079 on Sept. 16, its lowest level in about a month, suggesting softer buying interest in the US compared with Binance.
The article says the shift came as shortterm Bitcoin holders sent about 34,000 BTC to exchanges over a 24hour period, with roughly 23,200 BTC moved at a loss. CryptoQuant described that as the largest shorttermholder capitulation event in the past month.
Analyst Willy Woo said the selling pressure appeared stronger on Coinbase than on offshore exchanges, where activity was more stable or accumulating. The report frames the move as a sign that US traders reacted more sharply to the failed vote, while broader market behavior remained mixed.
