Colombia's military said it killed five members of an armed group accused of carrying out a bus bombing that left 20 civilians dead and 45 injured in April.
The operation targeted the Estructura Jaime Martínez faction, which officials say was responsible for planting the explosives in Cajibío in the country's southwest. Authorities also accused the group of vehicle theft and using explosiveladen drones.
Military leaders described the bus attack as a terrorist act linked to dissident FARC factions. The region remains disputed by illegal armed groups fighting over cocagrowing areas and drug trafficking routes.
