Premarket stocks move on earnings, contracts and guidance updates
U.S. stocks move on earnings, contracts and forecasts before Wednesday's open Super Micro, Rocket Lab and GE Vernova lead the premarket action; see what drove moves
Several U.S.listed stocks moved sharply before the opening bell on Wednesday as investors reacted to earnings reports, contract wins and updated forecasts.
Super Micro Computer rose about 17% after preliminary fourthquarter results showed stronger profitability than expected, even though revenue landed near the low end of guidance. The move also lifted server peers Dell Technologies and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, both of which gained more than 4%.
Among other notable movers, Pegasystems fell more than 14% after secondquarter results missed Wall Street estimates, while Rocket Lab climbed 4% after announcing a $266 million U.S. Air Force contract. GE Vernova dropped more than 7% despite beating revenue expectations and raising fullyear guidance, and CalMaine Foods declined after reporting a surprise loss. Shares of AT&T, CME Group, Philip Morris International, Oklo and XEnergy also moved on earnings or news related to nuclear power development.
