Six people were injured early Saturday in St.Tite, Quebec, after a vehicle hit pedestrians during the town’s annual Western festival, according to provincial police.
Police said they were called to Boulevard StJoseph around 4:30 a.m. after the collision. The vehicle later was found in Quebec City about an hour later, and a man in his 20s was arrested for questioning.
Authorities said the injuries range in severity, including some serious cases. Investigators have not determined whether the incident was intentional. Quebec’s public security minister said there is no indication it was planned or that it was a terrorist attack. Festival organizers said the event continued on Saturday and that the site remains secure.
