Thousands of customers across Newfoundland lost electricity late Saturday morning after a trip on the Labrador Island Link caused an automatic load shed, according to Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and Newfoundland Power.
Newfoundland Power said about 73,000 customers were affected by the brief outage. The utility said power was restored to all customers by Saturday afternoon.
Two other outages that day had already been scheduled in the SunnysideClarenvilleBonavista Peninsula area and in Baie Verte JunctionSheppardville.
