Guy Turcotte denied supervised outings from prison

Guy Turcotte parole denial follows the Quebec father's life sentence for killing his two children; see why the board says release is still inappropriate now.

Guy Turcotte, a Quebec man serving a life sentence for killing his two children, has been denied supervised outings from prison by the Parole Board of Canada. According to RadioCanada, the board said Turcotte has not fully accepted responsibility for his actions, although members noted some progress in his testimony. They also said the gravity of the 2009 killings made release at this stage inappropriate. Turcotte was convicted of seconddegree murder in 2015 for the deaths of his son Olivier and daughter AnneSophie. He is eligible for parole in 2028. His exwife said before the hearing that she hoped the process would be handled with care and seriousness.
