Montreal man charged after CBSA seizure of fake ID documents

Counterfeit ID seizure at Mirabel Airport exposes a major document-fraud case See how investigators linked blank PR cards, holograms and a firearm to charges

A 40yearold Montreal man is facing multiple charges after the Canada Border Services Agency seized counterfeit identification materials at Mirabel International Airport. CBSA said the case stems from a March 2024 seizure, when an officer found 250 blank cards resembling Canadian permanent resident cards and 250 holograms similar to those used on the cards. Investigators later executed a search warrant at a home on Montreal’s North Shore on July 11, where they found forged identity documents with inaccurate personal information, as well as materials used to make counterfeit documents. Officers also seized a restricted firearm and three magazines.
