A 3yearold girl has died after being critically injured when a bouncy castle was lifted by strong winds during a community event in Montreal over the weekend.
Emergency responders were called to Ouellette Park in the LaSalle borough on Sunday afternoon after the inflatable structure reportedly rose into the air with children inside. Authorities said several people were hurt, and 11 injuries were reported in total, including six hospitalizations and two children among them.
The Quebec coroner’s office said an investigation is underway to determine what happened. Officials noted that wind gusts reached about 50 km/h at the time, and city crews were clearing the area as the review continued.
