EEZ tests atomic L1-to-L2 transaction on Ethereum
Ethereum atomic cross-chain transaction tests seamless L1-to-L2 transfers See how EEZ could cut fragmentation, boost liquidity, and link rollups
The Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) has tested an atomic transaction between Ethereum mainnet and a layer2 network as part of its effort to connect Ethereum and its rollups more closely.
EEZ contributor Eduardo Antuña Díez said the test moved 0.001 ETH in what he described as the first atomic crosschain L1toL2 transaction. Transaction logs show a crosschain call and a state update for a rollup.
The EEZ framework is intended to let rollups interact with each other and with Ethereum mainnet in a single transaction without using bridges. Supporters say the approach could reduce fragmentation across layer2 networks and improve liquidity and application connectivity on Ethereum.
