OpenAI introduces dots
OpenAI dots: always-on AI agents that manage work across ChatGPT, Slack, and Teams Use them to handle tasks, speed approvals, and boost productivity with safer controls
OpenAI has announced dots, a new class of alwayson AI agents designed to help people manage work across ChatGPT, Slack, and Teams. The company says dots can learn user preferences over time, use their own cloud computer, and connect to thousands of apps to carry out tasks with limited oversight.
The product is rolling out to Pro, Business Premium, and some Enterprise users in eligible markets. OpenAI says dots can handle tasks such as reviewing feedback, drafting launch materials, updating analysis, and preparing proposals, while keeping users involved in approvals for important actions.
OpenAI also highlighted safety and privacy controls, including permissions, readonly background research, and action review for sensitive steps. The company says specialist versions for organizations are also in early enterprise pilots, with support for governance tools and deeper system integrations.
