York Regional Police say three people have died in hospital after a residential fire in Markham, Ont., that broke out Friday morning near Carlton Road and Kennedy Road. Police said the fire started in one home and spread to a neighbouring house. Fire crews arrived to find the blaze already in an advanced stage, and several nearby homes were evacuated. Two women in their 70s and a man in their 80s were taken to hospital with serious injuries after the fire. Ontario's Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
