Ferrari CEO stands by Luce EV launch despite criticism
Ferrari Luce launch: CEO defends the EV debut and staged rollout strategy See why Ferrari says demand is strong and order books are full through 2027
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said the company is satisfied with the launch of its first allelectric model, the Luce, and would not change how it was introduced earlier this year. The remarks came during a Thursday call discussing Ferrari's secondquarter results.
The Luce debut drew criticism and briefly weighed on Ferrari shares after its May launch in Rome. Vigna said Ferrari intentionally used a staged rollout, including early interior previews and online videos, to help customers understand the car's new features.
Ferrari did not disclose sales or order totals for the Luce, which costs 550,000 euros, or about $640,000. The company said its order books are full through 2027, and reports have suggested the model's production quota for this year was filled within two months of launch.
