Oilers build on defense in win over Kraken

Edmonton Oilers beat the Kraken 3-1 as McDavid adds a goal and assist Levi shines, Draisaitl seals it, and Edmonton keeps rolling at home

The Edmonton Oilers beat the Seattle Kraken 31 on Saturday in Edmonton, with Connor McDavid adding a goal and an assist as the team earned its second straight win. Owen Michaels and Leon Draisaitl also scored for Edmonton, which started the season with two highscoring games against Vancouver before producing a tighter defensive performance against Seattle. Draisaitl scored late in the third period to put the Oilers ahead for good, while goaltender Devon Levi made 19 saves to secure the victory. Head coach Mike Babcock said the team played a more disciplined game and benefited from better goaltending. Michaels, an undrafted 24yearold from Michigan, has now scored twice in his first three NHL games after signing with Edmonton as a free agent. The Oilers have also continued to dominate Seattle at home, extending their winning streak against the Kraken in Edmonton.
