OpenAI partners with America’s SBDC to support small businesses using AI

OpenAI said it is partnering with America’s SBDC to help small businesses use AI in daytoday work. The effort will include training for local advisors, handson workshops, and practical guides designed to help owners apply tools like ChatGPT to tasks such as marketing, operations, and compliance. The pilot aims to train about 150 Small Business Development Center advisors and reach at least 1,000 small businesses through inperson sessions, with additional support through advising and shared resources. OpenAI said the program will focus on helping owners identify useful starting points and use AI responsibly. The company also released a report, "Small Businesses, Bigger Capabilities," which says around 4 million smallfirm employees worldwide used OpenAI’s tools during a recent week in September. The report highlights use cases including price comparison, outreach, product planning, and administrative work across small teams.
