Ethereum schedules Glamsterdam upgrade on Sepolia for Oct. 6
Ethereum Glamsterdam upgrade lands on Sepolia Oct. 6 with key protocol changes Update clients now and track gas, access list, and PBS changes before mainnet
Ethereum developers have set Oct. 6 as the activation date for the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Sepolia testnet. The network’s mainnet rollout has not been scheduled yet.
According to the Ethereum Foundation, Sepolia node operators need to update both executionlayer and consensuslayer clients before the fork. The upgrade is intended to bring several protocol changes, including enshrined proposerbuilder separation, blocklevel access lists, and updated gas pricing.
The foundation said the gas changes are meant to better reflect the cost of storing and accessing data on Ethereum, and some contracts may need adjustments if they rely on fixed gas assumptions. Developers are also planning a later testnet deployment on Hoodi, while the next upgrade after Glamsterdam, called Hegotá, is being targeted for 2027.
