Toronto police were called to a building near Sherbourne Street and St. James Avenue around 11 a.m. after reports of a stabbing. Paramedics later treated an adult with stab wounds, and that person was described as in serious but stable condition.
Police said the stabbing suspect later died while attempting to flee officers at the scene. Investigators said the suspect was involved in an accident during the escape and was pronounced dead there. Authorities have not released further details about what happened.
