Sen. Curtis seeks scrutiny of Trump Jr. over foreign business ties
Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden face Senate scrutiny over foreign business ties See why Utah Sen. John Curtis wants subpoenas for both men and what it could reveal
A Senate Republican is urging the Judiciary Committee to examine Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden over concerns about foreign business ties and the use of presidential family connections for private gain.
In a letter to Sen. Chuck Grassley, Sen. John Curtis of Utah said both men should be subpoenaed and asked to testify about alleged dealings that may have benefited from their fathers’ political power. He pointed to reports involving Trump Jr.’s private island wedding afterparty, allegedly funded by a Russian oligarch with ties to Vladimir Putin, as well as Trump familylinked crypto ventures, real estate activity, and investments tied to regulated markets.
Curtis argued that oversight should not depend on which party controls the White House and said the issue raises broader questions about corruption, foreign access, and possible national security risks. The Trump Organization, White House, and Hunter Biden did not immediately comment.
