Strive, a publicly traded asset manager and Bitcoin treasury company, added 1,800 Bitcoin to its reserves last week in a purchase worth about $143 million.
The company said it paid an average of $79,431 per BTC, including fees and expenses, for coins bought between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28. CEO Matt Cole confirmed the acquisition on Monday.
The latest purchase raised Strive’s total holdings to 23,156 BTC from 21,356 BTC the week before, moving it ahead of Bullish to become the fifthlargest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin, according to industry data. The buying comes as Bitcoin and other digital assets have recovered in recent weeks, and other large corporate holders, including Strategy, have also resumed purchases.
