Quebec recalls ground beef sold at Saint-Léonard grocery store
Quebec ground beef recall: avoid possible E. coli contamination at Marché Atlas See affected packages and safety steps to protect your family
Quebec’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has issued a recall for certain lean ground beef packages sold at Marché Atlas on JeanTalon Street East in SaintLéonard, Montreal, after possible traces of E. coli were found.
The products were packaged on July 8 and sold in polystyrene trays covered with plastic film. The ministry said people who have the beef should not eat it and should follow the recall warning as a precaution.
No illnesses linked to the product have been reported so far. The ministry also noted that proper cooking can destroy E. coli bacteria and advised consumers to avoid crosscontamination when handling raw meat.
