Osheaga introduces stricter bag rules for festivalgoers

Osheaga has updated its bag policy ahead of this weekend’s festival in Montreal, requiring larger bags and backpacks to be transparent if they are within the allowed size limit of 30 x 30 x 23 cm. Smaller items such as fanny packs may still be opaque, but anything larger than the maximum size is not allowed on site. The festival said the rules are meant to improve entry flow and help protect staff, artists and attendees. Osheaga also said it will offer water refill stations and allow empty reusable bottles, plastic bottles and hydration packs through security. Other permitted items include strollers, binoculars, cameras, nonaerosol sunscreen, and naloxone, while aerosol containers, coolers, recording equipment, speakers, drones and outside food are banned. This year’s lineup includes Twenty One Pilots, Tate McRae and Lorde as headliners. The festival said it is also featuring 26 Canadian artists, including 14 from Quebec, and emphasized its security training and harmreduction measures on site.
