Trump denies Iran report on deal terms as oil and stocks move

Trump Iran deal report: see what was really agreed in writing and what wasn't Read the latest claims, market moves, and the next talks shaping the crisis

President Donald Trump rejected reports in Iranian state media describing the terms of a possible warending deal with Iran, saying they did not match what was agreed in writing. Iranian outlet Mehr News said a draft would include U.S. sanctions relief, the release of frozen Iranian funds, an end to a U.S. naval blockade, and a commitment from Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days. Trump dismissed those claims in a Truth Social post and criticized Iran over what he described as a drone attack on Indian ships near the strait. The dispute came as market expectations for a possible agreement lifted global stocks and pushed oil prices lower. Trump has repeatedly said a deal could be close, while reports also suggested that any final agreement could be discussed during upcoming talks in Switzerland around the G7 summit.
