Starbucks Canada to close several B.C. locations
Starbucks Canada store closures hit B.C. as the chain overhauls weak locations See which coffeehouses are shutting and how Starbucks plans to refresh the rest
Starbucks Canada says it is closing several stores in British Columbia as part of a broader overhaul of its North American business.
The company said it has identified coffeehouses that do not appear to have a viable longterm path, and Global News verified multiple B.C. closures. Most of the affected locations are set to close on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The B.C. stores slated to shut include sites in Vancouver, Burnaby, Victoria, Kelowna, Osoyoos and Merritt. Starbucks said the closures are part of a wider effort to improve store performance and refresh its locations with more seating, artwork, greenery, ceramic cups and other changes aimed at encouraging customers to stay longer.
