Trump launches America.gov as AI hub for federal services

America.gov AI site centralizes federal services and makes government info searchable fast. Explore how Trump’s new chatbot tool could simplify passports, benefits, and more.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday introduced America.gov, an AIpowered website meant to gather information from thousands of federal webpages into one searchable system. The announcement came during an event at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., where Trump also signed an executive order telling federal agencies to connect their websites to the new platform. The site is now live and lets users ask questions in a chatbotstyle search bar. At launch, it can guide people through tasks but cannot yet complete forms on their behalf. Officials said that more features are planned for 2027, including help with filing government forms and tracking application status. Trump and administration officials said the platform could simplify access to services such as Medicare enrollment, passport applications, and benefit programs. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the site is expected to eventually help Americans apply for first passports and upload photos online, while federal agencies continue adding services in the months ahead.
