Rep. Nancy Mace said President Donald Trump's endorsement of South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette has not decided the state's Republican governor primary.
Speaking to Fox News Digital before Tuesday's vote, Mace said grassroots Republicans are unhappy with Trump's backing of Evette and claimed the endorsement has produced only a modest boost. She said she expects a runoff and called the contest a close fight.
Mace also said she was not surprised by Trump's decision, linking it to her support for releasing files related to Jeffrey Epstein. The crowded GOP field includes Evette, Attorney General Alan Wilson, Rep. Ralph Norman, businessman Rom Reddy and Mace, with early voting already underway in South Carolina.
