US military carries out strikes on Iran over the weekend

U.S. Central Command said it conducted selfdefense strikes on Iranian radar and drone commandandcontrol sites in Iran over the weekend. According to CENTCOM, the strikes were a response to Iranian actions that included the downing of a U.S. MQ1 drone over international waters. The command said U.S. aircraft also struck Iranian air defenses, a ground control station, and two attack drones that it said posed a threat to ships in regional waters. CENTCOM said no U.S. service members were hurt and added that it would continue to protect American assets and interests during the ongoing ceasefire. The report also said Kuwait’s air defenses intercepted drone and missile attacks, and that U.S. forces later intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles aimed at American forces based in Kuwait.
