Search underway for convicted killer believed missing from Vancouver Island prison
British Columbia prison search: RCMP are looking for Ernest Egon Jensen, 69 Call 911 if seen and help police locate the missing William Head inmate fast
Police in British Columbia are searching for Ernest Egon Jensen, 69, after the Correctional Service of Canada said he was found missing during a headcount at William Head Institution in Metchosin on Sunday.
Jensen has been serving a life sentence for seconddegree murder since 1991 and is also known to have previous convictions for break and enter and trespassing. West Shore RCMP said it has increased patrols around the minimumsecurity prison, with police dog and air units also assisting in the search.
Authorities are asking the public not to approach Jensen if seen and to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information is asked to contact West Shore RCMP.
