Trent University campus closure after water main break disrupts Symons Campus Get the latest on cancelled classes, residence impacts and reopening dates

Trent University has closed buildings at its Symons Campus in Peterborough and cancelled inperson classes for the rest of the week after a water main break disrupted service. The university said there is no immediate safety risk, but water will not be available while repairs are completed. That means affected buildings will have no drinking water, showers, toilets or sinks during the closure. Students, faculty, staff and visitors were told to leave campus immediately. Residences on the main campus closed Tuesday afternoon, and students in impacted housing were asked to arrange to go home if possible. Regular operations are expected to resume on Sept. 28, while residences should reopen on Sept. 27.
