Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use the Gordie Howe International Bridge starting Aug. 5, 10 days after the bridge opens to cars and trucks.
The Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority said the crossing for vehicles is scheduled to begin on July 27. The separate multiuse path for walkers and bike riders will open later and will allow twoway traffic.
The tollfree path is 2.5 kilometres long and 3.6 metres wide, and it connects to local trail networks in Windsor and Detroit.
