Porsche is shutting down its Web3 project and Pioneers Circle community nearly four years after launching its 911 NFT collection.
The company said the project will be concluded while the NFTs themselves will remain with current holders and continue to exist onchain. Porsche will also convert the community’s Discord server into a readonly archive and stop actively posting on the project’s X account.
The 911 NFT collection launched in January 2023 with a planned supply of 7,500 tokens, but minting was later halted after criticism over pricing and limited utility. OpenSea data cited in the article shows trading volume has fallen sharply since launch, with only modest activity over the past year and month.
