Ben Bernanke joins Anthropic's trust to guide AI governance and long-term impact. See how the ex-Fed chair could shape decisions on markets, work, and society.
Anthropic has appointed former Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke to its LongTerm Benefit Trust, an independent group that helps oversee the company’s mission and governance.
Anthropic said Bernanke will bring experience in economics, financial crises, and public policy to discussions about how advanced AI could affect work, markets, and society. The company said the trust is designed to support longterm decisionmaking and balance commercial goals with public benefit.
Bernanke, who led the Federal Reserve through the 2008 financial crisis and later won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, said institutional design will shape how AI’s potential is realized. Anthropic said the trust can appoint board members and advise leadership on major risks and societal impacts tied to AI development.
