Probe finds electrical issues at B.C. water park after 12 children are injured

A preliminary investigation into an incident at Cultus Lake Waterpark in British Columbia has identified electrical noncompliances at the site, according to Technical Safety B.C. The park was closed after 12 children aged 12 to 13 were taken to hospital on Monday with electrical burn injuries. Two of the students were airlifted for treatment, and police have said the incident does not appear to be criminal. Technical Safety B.C. said its safety officers are still examining the regulated electrical and amusement equipment involved. The regulator said the park cannot reopen until further investigation is complete and all hazards are corrected. The water park has said it is cooperating with investigators and will remain closed until it receives approval to reopen.
