Ford sales fell as F-Series production and EV demand weakened in Q2 U.S. results See how Ford held truck leadership and gained retail share despite the decline
Ford reported a 10.3% yearoveryear decline in secondquarter U.S. vehicle sales, citing a supplier disruption that affected FSeries pickup production and a sharp drop in battery electric vehicle demand.
The company said pure EV sales fell 40.7% from a year earlier, while FSeries sales, including the F150, declined 11%. Ford linked the truck slowdown to a production reset after its aluminum supplier resumed operations following fires last year.
Ford sold 549,200 vehicles in the quarter, down from 612,095 a year earlier. Even with the decline, the FSeries remained the bestselling truck in the U.S., and Ford said its retail market share edged higher to 12.3%.
