Quebec paramedics reach tentative deal with government

Quebec paramedics represented by CSNaffiliated unions have reached an agreement in principle with the provincial government after more than three years without a collective agreement. The deal was concluded late Saturday after an intensive round of negotiations that ran from July 20 to 25. The federation representing about 3,500 paramedics, including more than 1,000 at Urgencessanté, said the proposal will be brought to members for a vote as soon as possible. Union officials said no details of the agreement will be released until members have had a chance to review and vote on it. The Quebec Treasury Board also confirmed the tentative deal, and pressure tactics have been paused while the vote process moves forward, aside from uniformrelated actions.
