Trump Praises America in Mount Rushmore Speech

President Donald Trump delivered a Fourth of July eve address at Mount Rushmore on Friday, using the setting to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary and describe the United States as the “most exceptional nation ever to exist.” Speaking beneath the carved faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt, Trump said America had achieved unmatched success in freedom, constitutional government, and global influence. He also argued that the country faced a growing communist movement that he said threatened American history and values.
