Conservative Party 2025 deficit tops $14M despite $84.6M in revenue See how election-year spending, ads and credit use shaped the party's finances

The Conservative Party ended 2025 with an annual deficit of more than $14 million, even after bringing in $84.6 million in revenue, according to recently filed Elections Canada audits. The party spent about $99 million during the year, including $39.4 million on advertising. Its financial filings show the election year also included significant spending on staff, transfers, and campaign activity, while a $30 million credit facility was used and later expected to be repaid through rebates and fundraising. The Liberal Party, by comparison, reported a $3.6 million surplus in 2025 after earning $60.7 million in revenue and spending almost $55 million. The NDP had not yet filed its audited 2025 financial statements at the time of the report.
