Bitget resumes bitcoin withdrawals after major hack

Bitget bitcoin withdrawals resume after a $387.5M security breach More assets return this week as the exchange completes security checks

Bitget has restarted bitcoin withdrawals after suspending them in response to a security breach that affected nearly $388 million in assets. The exchange said more withdrawal services will return over the next few days as it completes security checks. According to Bitget, the Sept. 24 incident involved part of its hot and warm wallet infrastructure, while cold wallets were not affected. The company later updated the estimated stolen amount to $387.5 million after adding transfers involving Zcash and Tron. The exchange said ether withdrawals are planned for Tuesday and USDT withdrawals for Wednesday, with other assets and peertopeer services expected to resume on Friday. Meanwhile, reports say the attacker has continued moving stolen crypto through THORChain, which said its network halt cannot selectively freeze individual funds.
