Stocks move after hours on earnings from Alphabet, Tesla, IBM and others

Several major companies saw sharp moves in extended trading on Wednesday after reporting quarterly results or updating guidance. Alphabet fell more than 4% after increasing its 2026 capital spending forecast to $195 billion to $205 billion, even as secondquarter revenue came in above expectations. Tesla dropped 3% after missing profit estimates despite strongerthanexpected revenue. IBM rose about 2% even though its quarterly earnings and revenue slightly missed consensus forecasts. Other notable movers included ServiceNow, which climbed after beating estimates and raising its subscription revenue outlook, and Las Vegas Sands, which fell after missing both earnings and revenue expectations. Shares also moved on results from companies including Rollins, Shutterstock, CSX, Medpace Holdings, QuantumScape, Southwest Airlines, Texas Instruments and United Rentals.
