Golden reverses clock change plan, will stay on mountain time

Golden, B.C. keeps Mountain Daylight Time year-round after reversing its plan Stay aligned with East Kootenay communities and avoid darker winter mornings

Golden, B.C., has reversed its earlier plan to align its clocks with the rest of British Columbia and will instead remain on Mountain Daylight Time yearround. The town had announced earlier this month that it would move to permanent Pacific Daylight Time after one final clock change in November. Council has now changed course after receiving additional feedback from residents. Golden says the new decision keeps it in step with neighbouring communities in the East Kootenay region, which have chosen to stay on Mountain Daylight Time. The town also cited concerns about darker winter mornings and said it will work with the local school district on road and pedestrian safety.
