Quebecer launches social media app aimed at reducing screen time
Lyvio offers a healthier social media feed built to cut scrolling and boost connection See how this ad-free, chronological app helps users spend less time online
A 21yearold from Quebec has created a new social media platform called Lyvio, designed to help users spend less time scrolling and more time offline.
Founder Alexis Bossé said he built the app after struggling with the negative effects of social media on his own screen time and confidence. He said he wanted an alternative that still allowed people to stay connected without feeling isolated.
Lyvio uses a chronological feed instead of an algorithmdriven one, and it does not include ads. Bossé said the business model is still being developed, and he wants to speak with users about what approach would be healthier for them. He also said the app has recently gained traction, though it still has bugs to fix.
