Seventh B.C. Conservative leaves caucus after loss of confidence in Findlay
BC Conservative caucus turmoil deepens as A'a:liya Warbus quits over Findlay confidence, transparency concerns and a leadership crisis shake the party
B.C. Conservative MLA A'a:liya Warbus has left the party caucus and will sit as an Independent, saying she no longer has confidence in leader KerryLynne Findlay.
Warbus said the caucus has suffered from poor communication and a lack of transparency, and she pointed to the cancellation of a planned meeting as a sign of deeper problems inside the party. She also raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding Reann Gasper's resignation from the legislature, which cleared the way for Findlay to seek a seat in a byelection.
Her departure makes her the seventh Conservative MLA to leave the caucus this month, as the party continues to face internal conflict over its direction and leadership. Several former members have already quit, and some are now moving to form an alternative political party.
