Toronto police are investigating after two bodies were discovered in separate burntout vehicles on opposite sides of the city. Police said the first call came late Monday night, when crews were sent to a hydro field on Reesor Road near Steeles Avenue East in Scarborough. Firefighters found a body inside a vehicle that had been set on fire. A second incident was reported early Tuesday at James Gardens Park in Etobicoke, where police said smoke and a possible explosion were reported. After crews extinguished the fire, they found another body inside the vehicle. Investigators say it is not yet clear whether the two scenes are connected. The homicide squad and the Office of the Fire Marshal are both involved, and the cause of death in each case remains unknown.
