Polaris Music Prize winner Angine de Poitrine tops 2026 with Vol.II See how the Quebec duo and Fabienk claimed major Canadian music honors
Quebec rock duo Angine de Poitrine has won the 2026 Polaris Music Prize for their second album, Vol.II, taking home the $30,000 award at a ceremony in Toronto on Monday night.
The masked band from Saguenay, Que., accepted through manager Sébastien Collin, since the members use madeup voices to preserve their anonymity. The Polaris Prize is awarded each year to the best Canadian album based on artistic merit, as judged by a panel of music critics and journalists.
Angine de Poitrine also won the new Polaris Song Prize for Fabienk, while the Heritage Prize went to Willie Dunn's 1971 selftitled album by jury vote and the Watchmen's McLaren Furnace Room by public vote.
