Campaign staff for Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton confronted a cameraman at a recent event in Harrison, Ohio, after he asked why she had declined debate invitations from Republican opponent Vivek Ramaswamy.
The exchange was recorded on video and showed staff stepping between Acton and the interviewer while repeating that there would be no photos or interviews. Acton did not answer the questions and walked away.
The incident adds to the broader campaign dispute over debates, with Ramaswamy’s team criticizing Acton for refusing to take the stage with him as the general election approaches on Nov. 3.
