BC Conservatives hold narrow lead over BC NDP in new poll

A new Leger poll suggests the BC Conservatives are slightly ahead of the BC NDP in British Columbia, marking the first time the party has taken a narrow lead since the last provincial election. The survey, published Thursday, found 45 per cent support among decided voters for the BC Conservatives, compared with 41 per cent for the BC NDP and 8 per cent for the BC Greens. The poll also points to a more competitive political environment following the election of KerryLynne Findlay as the Conservatives' new leader. While most respondents had heard that the party chose a new leader, fewer said they knew Findlay had won, and many said they were not yet familiar with her. Housing affordability remained the top issue for respondents, followed by health care. The economy, taxes, deficits, and crime were more often cited by Conservative voters, while NDP supporters were more likely to prioritize health care and housing.
