Magic Eden flaw prompts whitehat protection of 3,832 NFTs
Magic Eden NFT security alert: 3,832 NFTs were moved in a whitehat sweep Check your approvals on Ethereum, Polygon and Base while the risk is addressed
A whitehat operation has moved 3,832 NFTs from hundreds of wallets after concerns emerged about a possible vulnerability tied to Magic Eden, the NFT marketplace.
The issue surfaced on Friday when an NFT community member warned that the transfers looked like normal sales through Magic Eden and advised holders to revoke approvals as a precaution. Yuga Labs’ 0xQuit later said the NFTs were safe and would be returned once the risk had passed.
Magic Eden said the exploit was linked to Limit Break’s Payment Processor V2, a protocol it stopped using in October 2024. The company said no live Magic Eden listings were affected, but NFTs listed on its EVM marketplace between roughly February and October 2024 may have been exposed. It also urged former users to revoke contract approvals on Ethereum, Polygon and Base while it works with Limit Break on further mitigations.
